FIRE EXTINGUISHERS

We supply and install fire extinguishers which are ideal for home and business use.

Fires in retail stores are caused by:

  • Lighting 21%

  • Electrical distribution 20%

  • Smoking related 10%

For retails stores we recommend installing either CO2, foam or powder extinguishers. We also suggest installing fire blankets for added safety precautions.

How many fire extinguishers will I need?

Based on a low risk workplace, an employee should be within 30m of an extinguisher. The extinguishers are best placed by the high risk area or near a fire exit or stairway. The extinguishers should be mounted if possible, with clear signage for clear identification.

PLEASE ensure all staff are trained to use them and all extinguishers are regularly checkedIt is an employer’s responsibility to ensure that they are maintained and ready to be used if needed.

FIRE SMS ALERT SYSTEM

fire-sms-alert-02.png

A new solution to fire safety that informs deaf or hard of hearing people when the fire alarm sounds in a public place.

FIRE SMS can be easily installed in under an hour and when the fire alarm sounds FIRE SMS sends a text message (SMS) to the mobile phone of connected users to let them know that the Fire Alarm is sounding.

How does it work?

1. Installation

The FIRE SMS will be pre‐programmed with information relevant to your building and a test will be performed by our remote monitoring system to confirm signal strength and an alarm test performed by your fire alarm engineer.  Maintenance is fully automated.

2. Service user registration

User visits location of the FIRE SMS control panel and texts a number (which is located on the control panel) their mobile phone number. This is then sent to the FIRE SMS system, a reply will be send back once registered to confirm the user is registered at that FIRE SMS location.

3. Alarm/emergency evacuation

In the instance of a fire alarm sounding the users who are registered to the FIRE SMS location will get a text message instructing them to evacuate the building.  Texts will not be sent in the case of a test fire alarm.

WIRELESS REFUGE SYSTEM

It is now part of fire safety law to provide a safe means of refuge for disabled persons in the event of a fire or emergency.

Any non – domestic building with more than one storey should provide a means of refuge for any person who cannot easily use fire escapes, lifts & stairs during an emergency. The regulation states that an effective two-way communication system must be in place for these refuge areas.

An EVC (emergency voice communication) or Disabled Refuge System allows firefighters and others to communicate with one another during emergency situations.

induction loops

hearing-induction-loop-01.png

There are about 8 million disabled people in Britain, who have some sort of impairment that seriously affects their day to day activities. The Equalities Act 2010 has introduced significant new legislation that all those “providing a service” are obliged to meet.

We specialise in assisting companies to comply with the DDA Act and can provide a total solution to implement these changes.

We supply & install induction loops to aid the hard of hearing. This can be implemented with the portable version for use in conference, lecture or meeting rooms or a micro loop which can be fixed to till areas in retail stores
